Iris specialises in foreign affairs and political communications as well as media policy and analysis.

She previously worked as a press and communications trainee for the EPP Group in the European Parliament and completed a research internship with the Wilfried Martens Centre for European Studies, the official think tank of the European People’s Party. 

She studied Communication and Information Studies at the University of Groningen. 

During her MA degree, she worked as a policy trainee for the Embassy of the Netherlands in Czechia, where she conducted research on digital public diplomacy.
