BOLDT organises photo exhibition with Fondation Franz Weber

BOLDT, in cooperation with Fondation Franz Weber, invites you to a photo exhibition of threatened and endangered species in Africa, taken by BOLDT’s Creative Director, award-winning photographer, Jimmy De Bock.

The exhibition, Africa. Endangered, features Jimmy’s photographs taken over the last five years in Kenya, Tanzania and South Africa. In a series of haunting images, Jimmy captures the innate dignity and grace of elephants, lions, giraffes and cheetahs — species which are threatened with extinction in the wild.

Poaching has devastated elephant populations in Africa. Tragically, over the past century the population has decreased by 90%. According to the 2016 Great African Elephant Census, the largest ever elephant survey, one elephant was killed for its ivory every fifteen minutes, every hour,  every dayfor more than a decade. If poaching continues at current levels, elephants, lions and other threatened iconic species could become extinct in the wild within a decade. Time is running out to save these amazing animals. The public is looking to the EU, historically leaders in preserving global biodiversity, to do more to help sustain these remaining populations in the wild.

Fondation Franz Weber was founded in 1975 by Swiss ecologist, Franz Weber.  Ever since, the organisation has passionately carried out a diverse range of campaigns around the world to protect animals and nature. Until the end of 2020, 10% of the proceeds of all sales of  Africa. Endangered prints will be donated to the Fondation.

We look forward to welcoming you to drinks, canapes and the opportunity to discover these amazing creatures with brief comments from Vera Weber, President and CEO of Fondation Franz Weber at 19.00.
