Bully Pulpit Interactive adds European business strategy, public policy, and communications offering with acquisition of BOLDT

BPI to rebrand as Bully Pulpit International

Bully Pulpit Interactive (BPI) today announced its acquisition of European consultancy firm BOLDT. Brussels, European capitals, and Washington are more connected than ever. With pivotal elections in both the U.S. and Europe next year, the world’s most influential leaders and brands need a single best-in-class partner that can deliver a coherent bi-lateral strategy.

With the addition of more than 50 professionals across Europe’s capitals, BPI will also rebrand as Bully Pulpit International. As part of the deal, BOLDT, a business strategy, public policy, and communications firm, will retain its brand and become BOLDT, a BPI Company.

“On topics from the green transition to AI, privacy, and antitrust, sophisticated companies must reach beyond Washington and Brussels and into key European constituencies,” said BPI President Andrew Bleeker. “We’re thrilled to add BOLDT’s unmatched senior team across five countries, including the key European hubs of Brussels, Berlin, London, Oslo, and Zürich, to our own U.S. offering.”

With this investment, BPI introduces a bi-lateral public affairs, campaigning, and strategic communications offering to serve both American and European clients. As the pace of change increases, policy discussions evolve, and stakeholders demand engagement, brands require a cohesive approach across policy and corporate strategy in the U.S. and Europe.

“This is an ideal time for BOLDT to join forces with BPI, given the political landscape and the pressures that businesses face to transform in Europe and in the U.S. BOLDT works for some of the world’s largest companies on their most critical issues, and given BPI’s service offering and culture this is a natural fit. This next chapter will have much to offer our clients and our team, and enable us to invest in further accelerating our growth,” said BOLDT Managing Partner, Jeremy Galbraith.

Jon Banner, McDonald’s Global Chief Impact Officer, made the introduction which enabled this collaboration.

“I have worked with both BPI and BOLDT for many years.” Banner said. “I look forward to seeing the growth and success that comes from their partnership.”

The combined firm will boast more than 250 team members in six countries and ten offices — Berlin, Brussels, Chicago, D.C., Düsseldorf, London, New York, Oslo, San Francisco, and Zürich.

Accordingly, BPI has seized this unique opportunity to rebrand. “Our work has long transcended the digital space, and we know we’ve outgrown ‘interactive’ as part of our identity. Introducing our first international partner is the perfect moment to make a change that signifies the next step in our evolution,” Bleeker remarked.

This news follows the April 2023 announcement of Broad Sky Partners as the agency’s new lead investor. Berenson served as an advisor on the deal.
