BOLDT’s work for agricultural technology company N2 Applied has been named as the winner of the Best ESG Product Campaign category at the UK’s ESG Awards.
Our team in London and Oslo focuses on corporate communications and political engagement activity for the company, which has created a machine for converting animal manure into sustainable fertiliser using just sir and electricity to lock in methane and ammonia emissions while raising nitrogen levels to support crop growth.
Agriculture accounts for a significant amount of global greenhouse gas emissions, while at the same time food security is a growing concern given rising costs and geopolitical instability. In particular, the cost of chemical fertilisers has soared over the past year making on-farm production of a sustainable alternative attractive.
As N2 Applied puts it, “Current agricultural practices can be hugely damaging to the environment, with harmful emissions, loss of nitrogen and heavy reliance on chemical fertilisers, based on fossil fuels. Until now very few new green technologies targeting farmers have been available. N2 Applied provides a solution which answers the needs farmers, the food industry and consumers are looking for. A solution that reduces emissions and improves food production at the same time.”
The ESG Awards is a new annual event that launched last year. It intends to showcase the best ESG performance in line with the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals, focusing both of those achievements and the part that communications plays.
